Learn the techniques of fusion belly dance. Explore the foundational roots of Egyptian folkloric and Raqs Sharqi movements, and then combine these techniques with a fusion of dance forms derived from different cultures and time periods including hip-hop, ballet, contemporary, and classical Indian dance styles. Introduction of props
including zills, veil, and sword is also explored.

Including both Tahitian and Hula ‘Auana, our Polynesian dance classes are part of the beautiful dance forms originating from French Polynesia & Hawaii. These cultural dances are known for their soft knees, swaying hips & intricate arm and hand movements. The modern hula is called Hula ʻAuana (oh-wan-ah) and was created in response to Western influences that came to the islands.  ʻAuana means to wander or ramble, which aligns with the deviation of this particular type of hula as it drifted away from the traditional sacred elements. Students can expect to get an intense low impact core and lower body workout from these traditional Polynesian island dance classes!

At Bella Diva we want to empathize ballet is for everybody and can be done by any BODY. This class will be a great add-on for all our world dancers who wish to develop classical training & stage presence for performance.

Ballet is a great workout for the whole body: It is a weight-bearing form of exercise which strengthens muscles, promotes healthy bones, and burns calories. Because ballet uses full range of muscles, it is also great for cognitive functions like coordination and concentration.

Divas ‘N Heels is a heels infused dance class meant for everyBODY that incorporates jazz, pop & funk. Be ready to work up a sweat as you unleash your inner diva & awaken confidence in a truly supportive & empowering environment.

No experience necessary

Whether you are a complete beginner or have some experience with heels, our class is designed to cater to all levels. And heels are optional! Feel free to also throw on a pair of booties or dance barefoot.

Twerking is a dance move that involves shaking the hips and bum. It’s a modern version of an African dance called Mapouka that originated in Côte d’Ivoire (i.e. Ivory Coast) in West Africa. Twerk is rooted in Black culture and is a celebration and liberation of the body.

Learn Salsa On1 – L.A. Style

Immerse yourself in the vibrant world of Salsa Dancing with Dina Escobedo! In each class you’ll learn a fun, energetic salsa combination or mini routine. We will focus on essential salsa steps, fluid combinations, ballroom technique, and musical rhythm and timing, all while improving posture and self confidence. Supportive feedback will be provided throughout the lesson.

Please bring suitable footwear with a smooth sole; sneakers are not suitable for this class.
No dance partner is needed to join in on the fun!

Brazilian Zouk is a partner social dance that originated in Brazil in the early 1990s. It’s also known as zouk-lambada and is a descendant of the Brazilian dance Lambada, with influences from other Brazilian dances. The dance is characterized by playful footwork, body movements, and unique head movements for followers. Our ladies’ styling class focuses on the steps, vibe and rhythms of Zouk including sensual body movements and arm styling.

“Ginga” is a Brazilian Portuguese word that closely translates to “sway” and is associated with movement. Ginga is what you do with your body, between the steps while you are dancing, incorporating your energy, swag, & vibe. This is the difference between ‘doing’ the steps and dancing the steps. Ginga Vibe draws on styles from the African Diaspora including Samba, Funk, Afro-Caribe, Dance Hall, Soca and Lambada. This class includes cardio training, multicultural exploration, & weekly dance combos intended to move both the body & the spirit so you can find your own ginga vibe!

During this class students will explore and drill intermediate level technique & layering that make up the belly dance vocabulary. Students will study Egyptian folkloric movements, Egyptian cabaret technique, and ever-changing fusions of dance derived from many cultures & time periods including hip hop, ballet, & Polynesian dance movements. Class ends with exploring one’s own body, unique creativity, and musicality in a 5-minute freestyle. 1 Year belly dance experience required.
