The Art of Expressing Yourself

When we talk about telling people a story, we immediately think about someone talking to us or even singing to express what we want others to understand. What many do not realize is that dancing is an artistic way of expressing oneself. A good dancer can set the mood and emotion to the public.

Bollywood

Bollywood is an Indian dance created for movies, for example. In this type of dance, you can experience what the dancer is thinking and feeling. Bollywood includes a lot of costumes and many movements from all different parts of your body, including facial gestures and expressions, so you can feel what the dancer is trying to portray to the audience without even saying a word.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is another type of dance that can be easily interpreted by just how the person is moving and by the tone and lyrics of the music. It is fascinating to tell a story or emotion by only dance moves. You can see this video as a reference to what actions show feelings. You will find that we can sense fear, happiness, sadness, or anger through dance depending on the beat of the music, facial expressions, and body movements.

Express With Your Body What Words Can’t Convey!

At Bella Diva, we not only teach dance moves, but we also teach the art of communicating with your body because when you dance, you need to move your body according to emotion. When we talk to someone and express our feelings, we are not only expressing with words but also with our body language, and this is why we can communicate so well through dance. Think about this; we can say something to someone but express the opposite thing with our body language. Which one would you believe more, the words coming out of someone or their body language? I tend to focus on body language more than words! It’s a form of expression and a critical one.
