City Parks: Places to enjoy the Outdoors in Denver

urban parkland in Denver

Exercise and being outdoors to be able to breathe fresh air is paramount for our bodies. We can take a walk, play with our dog and family or practice any other exercise or sport. Denver may be a world-class city with its urban sights but you’re guaranteed to find a green space close from you.

Denver City Green Areas

There are over 5,000 acres of urban parkland in Denver, which include: more than 200 city parks, 100 miles of trails, 11 dog parks and an additional 14,000 acres of breathtaking mountain parks. As with many public areas, there are certain regulations and rules that visitors need to comply to. So if you’re planning a picnic, make sure not to bring any glass containers. If you’re not at a dog park, your dog must be on leash at all times. Restrooms may be closed by the end of September but portolets are year-around available. Remember to use the trash cans or take your trash with you!
