The dances of Hawai’i, Tahiti, Bora-Bora, Samoa and other South Pacific islands are known for their enchanting beauty and captivating stories of history, legend, and culture. In this easy-to-follow beginners’ class, BDD Teaching Associate April Johnson will be introducing us to basic Hula, Tahitian, and other Polynesian dances and rhythms under the Hot Hula Fitness format. Inspired by the dances of the Pacific Islands, HOT HULA fitness® incorporates easy to perform dance movements set to the sounds of traditional Polynesian drum beats fused with funky Reggae music, resulting in a modern, hip fitness workout!
The island breezes and hypnotic beats will cool you, while you develop coordination, muscle isolations, stronger and leaner legs, tighter torso and hips, with stronger overall movement and posture— all with the laid back “hang-loose” vibe of the island lifestyle. Sunscreen not needed 🙂 HOT HULA fitness® provides a “total body workout” in 60 minutes as it isolates your larger muscle groups, increasing strength and definition to your core with specific emphasis on the abs, glutes, quads and arms.
