    Tribal Infusions Class Description and Curriculum

    Bella Diva Dance is pleased to announce our newest class offering in Denver, Tribal Infusions, taught by Bella Diva Teaching Associate Micaela Cruce, who has recently completed the Bella Diva Teaching Training Program.

    Inspired by the young and growing genre of Tribal Fusion Belly Dance, this foundational class offers a dash of fusion with an avant-garde twist. It introduces students to a medley of belly dance techniques, both Middle Eastern and American in origin. Using a combination of Cabaret and Tribal stylizations, this class will emphasize slow and melodic muscle control.

    Additionally, this class will encourage the development of improvisational dance skills and zill-work. It will combine challenging drills, gooey combinations, and a playful selection of unconventional music. Tribal Infusions cheers precision, innovation, and unabashed self-expression!

     

    Hip Movements: 

    • Omis
    • Mayastribal belly dance

    • Ups, Downs, Tucks, Drops (Pops & Locks)

    Abdominal/Torso/Chest Movements:

    • Belly Rolls
    • Chest and Abdominal Pops and Locks
    • Torso Undulations
    • Camels (Cabaret & Tribal)
    • Vertical and Horizontal Chest Circles

    Arm Movements:

    • Snake Arms
    • Inverse Snake Arms
    • Hand and Wrist Articulations

    Zills:

    • Accompaniment to basic Middle Eastern rhythms
    • Layering with combos

    Improvisation:

    About Micaela Cruce

    Micaela has been dancing with Bella Diva Dance a little over three years and has recently completed the four month Bella Diva Teaching Training Program, studying under founder Caitlin Brozna-Smith. In addition to being passionate about dance, Micaela is also a talented massage therapist and is working towards obtaining a Ph.D. in History.

    Class Schedule: Mondays 7:45 – 8:45 PM; starting on Monday, January 4th, 2016.

    Class Fee: $52 for a 4-Week Month or $65 for a 5-Week Month Series (Depending on the Month).
